Bio
Coach Kim was born and raised in Huntington Beach where she explored all the sports she could get her hands on as a kid. She graduated from Huntington Beach High School a long time ago as a four-year varsity letterman in three sports. After a couple of years of junior college volleyball and track and a few years of UC Davis volleyball and track, Kim graduated with a degree in Biology, a Life Science Teaching Credential, and one year of experience as a Graduate Assistant Coach of the UCD Track team. Through college, Kim also coached various 14’s, 16’s, and 18’s club volleyball teams in Huntington Beach and Davis. Following her time in Davis, Kim returned to HBHS to teach Biology and AP Biology. She was fortunate to experience coaching Frosh-Soph girls volleyball at Huntington Beach while also assisting the girl's Varsity team, learning from the greats, Rocky and Cammy Ciarelli. Kim spent her spring seasons heading up the HBHS Girls Track team while specializing her coaching on hurdles, jumps, and heptathletes.
Kim is married to Chris Clarke, who is a Boat Captain in the Marine Safety Division of the HB Fire Department. They live in Fountain Valley with their two boys, Nathan and Jordan, and their labradoodle — Tater Tot. They worship at Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach.
Kim has been balancing coaching track at Fountain Valley High School, mommy’ing, advising FCA huddles, and classically homeschooling their two boys for the past 13 years. Now that the boys are older, she is beyond eager to be coaching at Pacifica Christian.
