Pacifica Christian High School Athletics

Philosophy and Approach

"IT’S NOT WINNING TOGETHER OR LOSING TOGETHER. IT’S STRIVING TOGETHER, COMPETING TOGETHER. COMPETITION THAT CHANGES STUDENTS FOR THE BETTER."
We work hard. We play hard. We play to win. We value the unparalleled experience of being part of a competitive team with a common goal.

At Pacifica Christian, the Athletic Department is built on four tenets. These tenets guide our coaches, teams, and athletic department, with the ultimate desire of teaching our student-athletes to think and live well.

  1. Participation - Pacifica ensures any student, and family who is willing to commit to the team, work hard, and participate in every practice and team event will have a place in their chosen sport.
  2. Competitive and Non-Competitive Success - Simply put, we like to win and we value the ability to compete well. We also understand that our student-athletes are teenagers and their non-competitive success in their academic, social, family, and most importantly, spiritual lives is equally important.
  3. Individual Player Development - We want every athlete to improve and become a more effective team member while improving individually so they can personally feel the connection between hard work and results.
  4. Overall Positive Experience - We strive to create an environment that will have a positive impact on our student-athlete's lives.

Pacifica’s competitive athletic program is committed to encouraging excellence on the court or field or water and in life. In a variety of ways, Pacifica engages athletes who may be new to a sport and challenges athletes who are at the top of their games. We provide each student with opportunities to grow in athletic skills, experience high-level competition, and benefit from the camaraderie that comes with school sports.

The Pacifica athletic program shapes players into people of character. Sports are vehicles through which our coaches strive to teach young men and women important life skills, including leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and perseverance. Athletes leave our program with more than specific athletic skills–they take with them a college-preparatory education, respect for hard work, deeper self-awareness, the ability to play at the next level of athletic competition, and the confidence to make positive impacts on their next community.

Pacifica coaches are chosen for their knowledge, experience, and expertise in their sport. More importantly, Pacifica coaches desire to disciple young people and challenge them to grow a Christian faith, becoming the individual God attends.
