Pacifica Christian High School Athletics

Services

The Athletic Training Room is located within the Triton Event Center at the 15th Street Campus.

ATHLETIC TRAINING

Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emergent, acute, or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Athletic training is an allied healthcare profession recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA), the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The Pacifica Christian Athletic Training Staff works in collaboration with the Athletic Department, local Physicians, and Physical Therapists. Our mission is to ensure the well-being of all student-athletes before, during, and after participation. The Athletic Training Staff evaluates all athletic injuries and determines athletic status, referring for Physician consultation when necessary. Student-athletes are strongly encouraged to report all sports-related injuries to an Athletic Trainer at the time of injury. Pacifica Christian ensures an Athletic Trainer will be on-site at all home events in case of an injury.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

If an injury occurs that requires extended rehabilitation, the athletic training staff will refer the athlete to the physical therapist. Pacifica Christian is fortunate to have a full-time physical therapist on staff who will treat our athletes with no financial responsibility for the family. The physical therapist will schedule treatment times with the athlete and is responsible for coordinating information with the parents, physician, and athletic trainer.
