Parker Strauss Commits to Northwestern for Men's Basketball
Senior Boy’s Basketball player Parker Strauss has committed to Northwestern University to play Division 1 Basketball. Northwestern, founded in 1851 is one of the top 10 most prestigious academic institutions and competes in the Big Ten Conference.
“I chose Northwestern because of the family environment and the relationships I’ve built with the coaching staff.” remarks Strauss, “I am excited to pursue academic excellence and have the opportunity to play in the best conference in the nation. Thank you to all my family, friends, and coaches for helping me get to this point in my journey.” Go Wildcats!
In his junior season playing for the Tritons, Parker led the team in points, rebounds, and assists and was ranked as the 31st best point guard in the country by 247Sports. Last season, Strauss was awarded First-Team All San Joaquin League, First-Team All-CIF in Division 2, and First Team Dream Team selected by the Daily Pilot. During the summer, Parker received over 15 scholarship offers from multiple Division 1 Schools including Fordham University, Lehigh University, and University of Wyoming.
Pacifica Christian Head Boy’s Basketball Coach Jeff Berokoff states: “Parker Strauss is a flat-out winner. Parker is extremely unique because he does so many little things that affect winning. He is the king of the floor burn and plays with no fear. His length and court vision allow him to make passes others just aren’t capable of. He’s probably one of the best passers in the county. His enormous hands also make it easy for him to be a deflection animal on defense as it’s hard to get a pass off around him. He can shoot the ball and has an excellent euro package and midrange game.. most importantly he’s an incredible teammate and giver of high fives. I’m simply just so proud of him and cannot wait to root for him while he's competing in the Big 10 next year!"
Congratulations Parker!
